Often healing trauma involves revisiting the childhood trauma, and reliving the traumatic experiences.  Bringing together the neurobiology of trauma, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Compassionate Inquiry (CI) and Ancestral teachings provides solid ground. Rather than reliving, this trauma perspective emphasizes the innate ability to observe the shock without being swallowed by the energy of emotion and underlying beliefs in the memory.  The following objectives of this training include:

  1. Identifying foundational ancestral principles that strengthen the ability to self-regulate

  2. Learning the trauma sequence in the brain and the physiological response to threat for intervention

  3. Redefine values and beliefs for dysregulation and overwhelm

  4. Understanding the impact and ongoing dynamics of colonialism (oppression) and how it contributes to PTSD (trauma, intergenerational trauma, developmental trauma)

With a focus on understanding the brain-trauma connection, a history of oppression and ancestral resources, participants will sharpen and further develop supportive methods to assist with healing trauma.
